The new service, available free to Premium customers, will greatly reduce the frustration and time-consuming process of searching for available upgrades and rewards tickets online or on the phone.

Oftentimes the upgrade and awards inventories of an airline are not loaded into the reservation system until shortly before flight departure with the hope of selling the seat outright. And once the inventory is made available, it could be gone in a matter of hours or even minutes without most travelers ever knowing they were made available at all.
