Quick Summary (TL;DR)

  • Quick Alert is a shortcut that creates a Flight Alert, Schedule Alert, Disruption Alert, and Aircraft Alert for a specific flight in one step.
  • You can create Quick Alerts from the dedicated Quick Alert page or directly from flight search results.
  • Quick Alert is available to Elite and Premium members.
  • Enter your airline, flight number, and travel date, select the alert types you want, and save. All selected alerts are created at once without setting them up individually.

Overview

Setting up multiple alerts for a single flight typically requires going through each alert type separately and entering the same flight details each time. Quick Alert removes this by letting you create a Flight Alert, Schedule Alert, Disruption Alert, and Aircraft Alert simultaneously in a single place. If you want full flight coverage without the long setup, Quick Alert is the fastest way to get there.

What are Quick Alerts

Quick Alert creates a Flight Alert, Schedule Alert, Disruption Alerts, and Aircraft Alert simultaneously for a specific flight. Instead of setting up each alert type individually, you enter your flight details once and choose which alerts to activate. Available to Elite and Premium members.

What happens after the alerts are created

Once created, each alert becomes active, and ExpertFlyer begins monitoring for you. Flight alerts and Disruption alerts trigger once when the condition is met, then become inactive. If you want to continue monitoring after they trigger, you will need to recreate the alert. Aircraft alerts and Schedule alerts can keep notifying you up until departure, if you selected 'Keep active" when creating them. When an alert fires, you will receive an email notification or an SMS if you have your phone number.

How to manage created alerts

To view or manage your current alerts, go to My Alerts. There you can see the number of remaining alerts, all alerts grouped by type, and each alert's status. You can run a quick search on each alert to validate inventory, and you can delete alerts you no longer need.

What each alert status means

  • Active - the alert is currently monitoring for availability.
  • Paused - if your account is paused, or your subscription changes to a plan that doesn't include the necessary alerts, your active alerts are marked as paused and ExpertFlyer stops monitoring them. Reactivating your subscription restores them.
  • Expired - the alert date has passed and no availability was found.
  • Notified - the alert triggered and ExpertFlyer notified you via email or SMS.

Issues you might encounter with Quick Alerts

There may be cases where alerts aren't created, or the Quick Alert tool displays an error. Here are the most common scenarios and how to fix them.

  • Flight not found - if the flight number or airline code is entered incorrectly, the system won't locate the flight and won't create alerts. Double-check the flight information.
  • Alert limit reached - Elite and Premium members have a limit of 250 active alerts. If you've reached your limit, delete existing alerts before creating new ones. Review your active alerts and remove any that are no longer needed.
  • Alert fires, but inventory is gone - each alert triggers once and then goes inactive. Availability can move quickly, so act as soon as you receive the notification. If the inventory has closed again, recreate the alert to keep monitoring.

Bottom line

Quick Alert is an easier way to implement full flight monitoring without having to set up each alert separately. Enter your flight details once, choose your alert types, and you are set. ExpertFlyer will monitor all of the created alerts and notify you once the criteria are met. For frequent flyers who want consistent coverage across every flight without manually setting them up, leveraging Quick Alert with Automated Alerts removes most manual alert setup entirely.
